Rosemary and I have decided to do something a little different this month; we're going to highlight our two top blog commenters for the month of April and put them in the spotlight!

These are two amazing people with very different backgrounds and areas of specialty, and we're sure you'll love learning more about them.

Acknowledging your top blog commenters serves many purposes:

First, it allows us to THANK them for their loyalty for coming to our blog and for leading the discussions that make our blog so valuable to others.

Secondly, it rewards our top blog commenters for their efforts and gives them some extra link juice and traffic back to their blogs.

Finally, rewarding your top blog commenters attracts others to your blog and helps you find the best blogs on which you can comment.

It's a win-win situation.

Our Top Blog Commenters For April 2011

Without further adieu, here are our two shining stars for this past month:

Val WIlcoxVal Wilcox of ValWilcox.com

Val Wilcox is our top blog commenter for the month of April, 2011.

Val is all about empowerment.  It oozes from her personality, her writings and her advice to others.  As I read Val's comments to our various blog posts this month, one theme prevailed:  Helping others.  And that's what Val WIlcox is all about.

Val is a highly sought after Life Coach who inspires others to live their life's passions.  Her positive nature and her own passion for life has allowed her to help so many navigate through life's obstacles and live a better life.

As Val says, “Life is too short to waste on being negative.”

When first visiting Val's blog, I immediately sensed a feeling of relaxation and calm come over me.  This is the feeling that Val's blog projects and it flows over to her readers.  Her posts are insightful and pragmatic, often dealing with every day problems that we all encounter.  You can immediately see why her Life Coaching business is so successful.

While at her blog, I wandered over to the Testimonials page.  It was obvious that others in Val's life — her business partners, colleagues and students — value their relationships with her.

Here is a small sampling of what they had to say about Val:

“Val offers a lot of value and inspiration to those she reaches.”

“Val is a true Go-Giver.  She is a leader in Life Coaching.”

“Val is one of the most inspiring and passionate women I know, hands down.”

“Val is an amazing coach/mentor.”

Be sure to visit Val's blog and soak in her insights and empowerment principles.  I highly recommend it as a source of inspiration for changing your life.  If you're like me, you'll want to bookmark it or, better yet, subscribe to her RSS feed so as not to miss a single post.  WARNING: Val's blog is highly addictive and you may find yourself not wanting to leave.

Congratulations, Val Wilcox – our Top Blog Commenter for April!

mavis nongMavis Nong of AttractionMarketingOnline.com

Mavis Nong is our second top blog commenter for the month of April.

If you interested in blogging and Attraction Marketing and haven't visited Mavis' blog, you're truly missing out on something special.

Mavis' blog tagline, “Discover the Fundamentals to Grow Your Business” gives you a snapshot into the value you'll find there.  In a very short time, Mavis has positioned herself as an up and coming star in the blogging community.  If it seems like Mavis is all over social media and other's blogs, it's because she is!  And she teaches you the secrets to her success on her blog.

Mavis is an expert Internet and Attraction Marketing trainer who always seems to know the latest blogging news before anyone else.  This is a testament to her dedication to her craft and her desire to learn new things.

Although Mavis is highly knowledgable in many areas of Internet Marketing, blogging is her specialty and she is REALLY good at it.  Her blog, Attraction Marketing Online is quickly becoming one of the “go to” blogs for bloggers at all levels of experience.

Let me put it this way — if I need a blogging question answered, Mavis' blog is on the shortlist of a handful of blogs I go to to find the answer.

Whether you're an experienced blogger or someone just starting out, head on over to Mavis' blog to soak up her vast knowledge and join the discussion with her very popular community of followers.

There's a reason why Mavis' blog was Voted  #19 in the Top 50 MLM Blogs for 2010.

Go find out what all the excitement is about for yourself.

Congratulations, Mavis Nong — our #2 Top Blog Commenter for April!

Are You Rewarding Your Top Blog Commenters?

Featuring your Top Blog Commenters is a great way to build excitement and entice others to join in your blog discussions.  And by using a plugin such as Top Commentators Widget on your blog, you can allow your commenters to see how they rank.

Check out our Top Blog Commentator widget on the right sidebar of our blog.  Is your name there?  Where do you rank?

It's a funny thing about lists — people always want to get to the top!

This is the first time we are formally acknowledging our top blog commenters and it's something we plan on doing each month going forward.

What do you think?  Do you like the idea?

Hey Dennis… I have my programmer looking at this issue… not sure what the problem is.

I emailed you about your idea!

    • Samantha Bangayan

I love this idea, Bob! Not only is this post a great way to acknowledge people who contribute to your community, but it also gives you a bit of a day off in terms of writing and researching an entirely new post. =) Strategic!

I do have a Top Commentators Widget, but I love the idea of dedicating a post to these people who are important to me! =)

I’ve never met Val before, but I can’t wait to get to know her after your stellar recommendation! Mavis is already one of my mentors! =)

Thanks again, Bob! Saludos to Rosemary! =)

      • Bob

        Hi Samantha,

I found writing this post so enjoyable because it gave me a chance to really get to know these two stars! Thanks for visiting again, Samantha. Rosemary says hello!

    • Oliver Tausend

      Hi Bob,

thanks for highlighting your top commentators. I know both of them and I am frequent visitor especially on Mavis’ blog. Well deserved. I do reward my top commentators as well – have been doing so since July last year.

      Take care

      Oliver

      • Bob

Hey Oliver, great to have you here again!

The response to this post has been really positive so I know I’m on the right track.

Interesting that you’ve also been doing this for quite a while.

How is it working for you? I’m guessing you also get a positive response with these posts, since you’ve been doing it since July 2010.

        Thanks for stopping by!

    • Dennis Edell

Bob, I tried to use the reply link and got “ERROR: Can’t find the ‘commentformid’ div.”

Anyhoo, I’m a huge supporter of it. I run comment contests all the time. On my last blog I ran them consecutively for several months and everyone loved them.

i started to do that again this year on the current blog in February blog, but we had some glitches. They will start again soon.

      • Bob

        Hey Dennis,

I’m beginning to see the power of commenter contests. The response to my Commenters of the Month has been amazing and extremely positive. Something I will definitely continue to do going forward.

Thanks for your input, Dennis. Love you blog!

    • Jeanine Byers Hoag

You picked two great people to honor!! I have read posts from both of them and they are thought leaders I respect and admire, both for their knowledge and skill, and for their success. And what a great idea, to honor top commenters. Good for you guys!

      • Bob

        Thanks Jeanine,

This monthly honor is something we will continue doing in the months ahead. It just seems like a nice way to recognize those that contribute most to your blog discussion.

        Thanks for the comment, Jeanine!

    • Adrienne

What a wonderful way to thank your bogging buddies for sharing their insight and comments on your blog. That’s a really great idea and I’m sure that Val and Mavis really appreciate you.

I’m not familiar with Val although I have heard of her. I’ll have to be sure and stop by her blog. Now Mavis is another story. I totally agree with you, she rocks in her knowledge of attraction marketing and anything blogging. I’m so thankful I joined Heather’s community and was introduced to her. I have really learned a lot from her.

Thank for you sharing this post Bob…

      Have a blessed day!

      Adrienne

      • Bob

        Hi Adrienne,

Yes, Heather’s community has been quite a find for me as well. There are some amazing, amazing people in this community from a variety of backgrounds. What they have in common is HEART and wanting to help each other.

Thanks for stopping by…. appreciate the comment!

    • Tosin

Congratulations to all the top commenters this month.

Mavis is a friend and she delivers value, that I know.

I will have to go check on Val.

      Cheers Bob!
      Tosin

      • Bob

Mavis is awesome, Tosin. I love her writing style and each post is guaranteed to deliver. She has just come out with her first blogging product. For less than a tank of gas, you can pick her brain and learn all she knows about blogging. Quite a deal!

And definitely check out Val… she is so cool and you just feel good visiting her blog!

Have a great weekend, Tosin. At this rate, you’ll be our top commenter next month! 🙂

    • Dennis Edell

if I remember correctly Bob, I found this blog through Mavis! 😉

      • Bob

        Hey Dennis,

Yes, you likely did find my blog through Mavis. I am an active reader and commenter on her blog.

So what do you think of the strategy of honoring your blog commenters as a way to generate more comments on your blog? It’s something we just tried for the first time this month and the response has been very positive. It seems everyone likes to win a race! 🙂

Of course, we did have to monitor the comments and only include those that were serious. The old standby, “nice post” didn’t cut it! 🙂

    • Yen

      Hi : Dr Clarke
I am new to here. This very nice to honor the top commenters. I’d like to do so in the future. In the other hand, you describes Val Wilcox and Mavis Nong as well. I’ve been benefited from you to know other great people. 😉
Also want to stick in this blog to grow my knowledge from you. 😀
      Thank You

      Have a great day!

      • Bob

        Hi Yen, welcome!

It’s true, when you participate in a blogging community you will undoubtedly meet some amazing people, like Mavis and Val.

Stop back often, Yen! Welcome aboard!!

    • Mavis Nong

Wow, Dr Clarke! I’m truly blown away and honoured to be featured here with Val 🙂

I’m so excited, jumping up and down after reading your kind words about me. What can I say? I’m speechless…

A BIG thank you for what you have done here, honouring me this way. I appreciate you 🙂

Now, I have to keep up and ensure that I continue to share my knowledge with others.

      All the best,
      Mavis

      • Bob

Hi Mavis, the pleasure is all ours! We are so happy that you’ve found value in our posts and that they’ve helped you in some small way.

And thank you for being a loyal reader and consistent commenter!

    • Allie

      Bob-

This is a great post idea.

One, I didn’t know about Val. I may have to go check her out.
It is funny, though, when I first heard the term “life coach”, I thought, “BS” (and not the degree). But as I move on in life I realize that a life coach is someone most people should consult with. Life is complicated at times, to have someone by your side guiding you is a great thing.

Two, Mavis rocks! You know how I view Mavis? As a hard worker. That says a lot. I know we are all hard working but with Mavis it oozes out of her blog. Oh, ya, she’s a great blogger and marketer too.

      Have a great day!

      ~Allie

      • Bob

HI Allie, thanks for the comment.

Definitely you should check out Val. She is an amazing person and life coach. I go to her blog whenever I need to feel uplifted!
And you’re right, Mavis is awesome. Her blog is quickly becoming one of my go-to resources for business building and blogging.

        Glad you stopped by, Allie!
