I just returned from a very cool Mastermind Event this weekend, led by Ray and Jessica Higdon.
It was an amazing experience with 2 full days of training followed by an “adventure day” (more on this later).
The training ranged from the basic to the advanced, from mindset to webinar presentation slides and everything in-between.
It's interesting…
With a high level mastermind event like this one, you'd expect some really advanced training and tactics, and there was definitely some of that.
But Ray spent many sessions on Success Mindset and the process of becoming a Successful Entrepreneur.
Given that success in your business is going to be 90% mindset and 10% skill set, I understand why Ray emphasized mindset so heavily.
Thus, you'll see that many of my takeaways are mindset-based.
Ray Higdon's Mastermind Event: My 3 Biggest Takeaways
Listen to this audio as I relate my biggest takeaways from Ray's event and how they relate to you:
.
.
Takeaway #1: It's Okay… and It's Not Okay
It's okay that you're overwhelmed at times. It's okay that you're frustrated and maybe even want to toss your computer out the window.
We've all been there and you will experience this throughout your journey, whether you're just starting out or having lots of success.
These are the highs and lows of entrepreneurship.
Here's what's NOT okay…
It's not okay to stay down, to stay at that place of despair and overwhelm where you remain inactive, paralyzed by your thoughts and fears.
It's not okay to dwell on the downtimes and to allow it to stop you from sharing your gifts with others.
It's actually selfish of you to remain in a state of despair…
Get up, dust yourself off and keep going!
Takeaway #2: Become a Producer Instead Of A Consumer
When just starting out, it's natural to want to consume information, to gain expertise and more knowledgable about your new skills.
You CONSUME information to become better.
But at some point, you need to shift your consumption to PRODUCTION.
You want to acquire new information with the intent of producing training that will help others.
You want to begin asking the question…
“How will this information help others when I share it with them?”
When you shift from Consumption to Production, you're starting to emerge as the leader you're meant to be.
Takeaway #3: You Dominate Your Competition By Out-Teaching Them!
This was perhaps the biggest takeaway from the entire Mastermind Event…
It's not enough anymore to pitch your business and throw some links onto social media.
In fact, that practice might just get you banned.
If you want to stand out from your competitors, you must out-teach them.
What does this look like?
I'll use myself as an example…
My niche is “marketers struggling to build a business with limited time”.
People who are Part Time in their business have unique struggles and obstacles that I help them solve through my trainings on this blog.
And on my videos.
And on my audios.
And on my periscope trainings.
You see where I'm going?
I train first and foremost, to help other Part Time Marketers solve their problems.
When I do this, I build trust and quite honestly stand head and shoulders above my competitors in the Part Time niche, who are out there pitching their deal and hoping someone will buy.
It's amazing how well it works… out-teach your competition!
Almost Forgot… Adventure Day!
On the last day of the event, Ray and Jessica treated us to a Mastermind Event fun day at the Kennedy Space Center down in Florida, where we had a VIP tour, lunch with actual astronauts and an up close look at the actual space shuttle Aquarius.
Here are picture we took with the astronauts! Very cool indeed!
What do you think? Which takeaway is your favorite?
Do you have one to add?
