help imagePeople love challenges.

I've taken many challenges in my life.

Over the last few years, I've taken both a 90-day Video Challenge and a 90-day weight loss challenge.

Both benefited me greatly.

  • I became a much better video marketer and got over my fear of the video camera.
  • I also lost 49 pounds and got off my cholesterol-lowering medication.

Yes, challenges can benefit you, too in a variety of ways.

But today, I want you to think OUTWARD rather than inward.

What is the “Help Thy Neighbor” 90 Day Challenge

It's a simple concept really, and it's focused upon helping thy fellow human beings.

For the next 90 days, I want you to commit to helping at least 1 person every single day.

What counts as help?

ANYTHING!

In your personal life, you could:

  • help a family member get through a difficult day
  • help an elderly person with a heavy package
  • buy a homeless person a hot meal or drink

If you are in business, you can help in many ways:

  • assist someone who is having trouble with their business
  • provide a free consultation with no ulterior motive (like trying to sell)
  • help someone less experienced get though an obstacle

The only rule — whatever it is must be SELFLESS in nature.

Why Should You Take this Challenge?

Aside from the good karma aspect of random acts of kindness, taking the “Help Thy Neighbor” 90 day Challenge will start reprograming you to come from a place of SERVICE rather than “what's in it for me”.

This will not only make you a better person, it will make you a better marketer and a more successful business person.

You see, providing selfless help to another person shows you are a person of integrity and starts to build trust.

And gaining a prospect's trust is a major hurdle that must be crossed before any sale is made.

WARNING:  These acts of helping others, especially in business MUST BE GENUINE.  If they are not, not only will you be exposed as a fraud but your reputation will take a hit that you may not be able to recover from.

I see way too many people approach their online businesses with an attitude of SELL, SELL, SELL.

What I'm asking you to do is to change your emphasis to HELP, HELP, HELP.

Try it for 90 days… I bet you'll be amazed at the changes you'll see.

I'm betting you'll feel like a better person.

And I'm also betting that your business will be in a more favorable position as well.

So Wanna Have Some Fun?

Join in our Challenge and let's share with each other how we're helping others.

You can start your 90 Day Challenge at any time – why not today?

Quite a tough challenge Bob. 90 days is along time to commit to anything. I am proud to say that I have made the shift to helping people without any gain to myself. I use to be terrible like that. I would only do things for people if there was potentially something it for me. Guess what? I never got much anyway! I am not going to formally commit to this as it is too much pressure, however I will help wherever I can. 🙂

      • Bob

It’s when we make the shift from a “what’s in it for me” mentality to one of selflessly giving of ourselves that great things begin to happen. Congrats on making that all important shift, Wade.

    • Neil

Great idea Bob. Something for me too certainly ponder on.

      • Bob

Glad it got you to pondering, Neil! 🙂

      Woohoo, Bob!

So happy to know you’re promoting these challenges! I’m doing a 100 day challenge with Adam Chandler and Jordan Schultz, as you know! Boy, what fun it is!

I think that it is so AMAZING what we discover when we hold our businesses (and OURSELVES) under a microscope and work to be more productive!

I love the power of the community behind these kinds of challenges. It’s so wonderful that we’re living in an age where we may connect so freely and easily via FaceBook groups and Skype Chats. We can truly all marinate in the momentum of the group and help one another rise! It’s a wonderful thing!

Cheering you on, Bob!!! Can’t wait to see how things are positively impacted in your business!

Thanks, Cat… I haven’t been posting about my efforts because I choose to keep them anonymous, but I’ve seen a positive impact in my own life as I help others.

        Appreciate the support!

Marketing is the name of helping others. By helping each other a network is created where people share common interest and mutually work for the interest of others.

      • Bob

It definitely works that way. Thanks for the comment, Maja.

    • Herbert

      Hello Sir Bob,

I live in a community wherein there are a lot of people, I think this 90 day challenge is very applicable. The only thing I dont know is if they can comprehend :/

      • Bob

It’s not important that they understand, Herbert… all that matter is that you know that you’re helping people. It’s good karma! 🙂

    • Bianca

Helping other is interesting and much more challenging to a person like me ..

      Thanks Bob ..

I can’t wait too see my self helping others..

      Bianca

      • Bob

Start small Bianca… smile at someone who walks by, hold the door for an older person, anything that makes someone’s day a bit easier or nicer.

It doesn’t have to be big things… many small things strung together have just as big an effect on the World and yourself.

Life is full of fun and challenges, as you overcome every challenges in your life, huge smile of success is waiting for you… WOw! Losing about 49 pounds…. Cool!

      • Bob

That WAS cool, losing that 49 lbs. Gained a bit back, but not that much. I’ll never go back where I was before.

        Thanks for the support, Nancy.

I love it! This comes pretty easy for me when it comes to business but strangely enough it’s more challenging in my personal life. Maybe because I’m so involved in my business on a day to day basis so there is more opportunity. In a weird way you almost have to really LOOK for people to help out in a personal way because many people are conditioned not to ask for help, and so it isn’t always obvious how to go about helping. So I think for me this is a personal challenge to find people outside of work/business who need help personally! Good challenge 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

      • Bob

I’m sure it does come easier for you than most folks, Carol. I see how you help people online on a regular basis. Now to take that and translate it into your personal life is the challenge, I suppose. Tell us how you’re doing!

Bob, aloha Great idea. Like Adrienne, this is something that I have long practiced. In fact, I cannot remember a time when it was not a part of my life.

That being said, the more we encourage others to do the same, the greater the benefit to all.

“Politeness and consideration of others is like investing pennies and getting dollars back.” Thomas Sowell

Best wishes for a successful challenge with hundreds of participants. Aloha. Janet

      • Bob

Janet, when I talk about helping others, I feel like someone talking about Catholicism to the Pope. You and Adrienne are the ultimate in helping others and putting their needs in front of your own.

I aspire to be more like you guys in this respect.

Thanks for sharing your insights on helping, Janet!

    • Adrienne

I’m already on it Bob, I practice this everyday.

You know me, I love to help people. I do this on my blog, I do this when I speak with prospects on the phone and I do this in my personal life as well. Right now my neighbor has just been told he has to move so I contacted another friend who is fixing to put his place up for rent and am now getting those two together so they can benefit each other.

You are so right Bob, when you come from a place of wanting to help others with no anterior motive, you just feel better. It makes me so happy to know that I’ve helped just one person with whatever they needed assistance with. No strings attached and over time it will definitely come back to help you in ways you never imagined.

I’m so happy you’re asking people to do this challenge. I have a feeling you’re going to heart some fabulous results from their experiences. I can’t wait.

Have a beautiful week Bob and thanks again.

      ~Adrienne

I know you do, Adrienne. As I said to Janet, when I think of people who help others selflessly,, you can Janet immediately come to mind… and also Emma Tiebens.

I aspire to your greatness in this area, my friend. You have set the bar high!
