If you’ve on Social Media at all and you’re in the home business industry, it’s a good bet you’ve run into the hype (more on this later).
I’m gonna tell you what I really dislike about Empower Network, but first let me answer the question…
What is Empower Network?
Empower Network is a direct sales marketing system highlighted by a low cost blogging platform that allows people with little to no technical knowledge to promote any opportunity or product at a very low cost.
Also within EN is some top notch marketing and mindset training, and members can promote and make commissions on these higher tiered products.
They say they’re not MLM, yet they have a multi-level pay plan, where you get paid to build a team and make money on their production. Good deal.
That’s what I like about Empower Network.
But there’s also some things I dislike…
and it’s why I stayed away for so long.
What I Dislike About Empower Network
With all the good things within EN, there are things that I dislike about Empower Network.
1. Wussie, Badass, and “All In”, oh my!
Early on, the two Davids (David Wood and David Sharpe, co-founders on EN) made it a point to call people WUSSIES if they didn’t go ahead and invest in the top tier products in the program.
Calls of “Don’t be a wussie” could be heard all over social media.
I understand the psychology behind it, but it’s always rubbed me the wrong way, and I didn’t want my name associated with these kind of tactics.
Now that Wussie has burned itself out, they’ve turned to calling each other BADASS… as in, “he’s one badass marketer.“
Again, by itself there’s nothing wrong with it. I’ve even used this one occasionally.
But when you see it over and over again on Facebook and Twitter, it becomes a bit much.
This brings me to Dislike Point #2…
2. Parrot Marketing to the Extreme
There’s good and bad to this approach, but the people over at EN do it to EXCESS.
There’s nothing wrong to providing some well written copy for your inexperienced members to swipe. It’s a strategy that most company’s use.
But with it’s done to ridiculousness, it’s not only annoying but it actually hurts the very members they’re trying to help.
When you see the same, hypey message all over Facebook about an upcoming training call, for example… people no longer see it. It’s everywhere. By dozens if not hundreds of marketers.
It’s on timelines, sponsored posts, groups… everywhere.
Same exact message written in a hypey fashion with overused buzzwords like wussy, badass, and “being ALL IN”.
After a while, no one listens… and everyone blends in together.
And the marketers promoting it become known for their hype and unoriginality.
3. Empower Network Marketers FLASHING Their Friends
I’m talking about Check Flashing here.
I’m sure you’ve seen it… people posting pictures of their commission checks all over social media.
It’s annoying, not to mention that it draws the ire of the FTC here in the US.
That’s because many times the person posting the check pictures strongly insinuates that this is a common occurrence, when in reality it’s the results of someone who has worked their butt off over an extended period of time.
Why We Joined Empower Network Anyway
Sure, there’s a bunch of things I don’t like about EN, but it’s mostly approach, not substance.
The reality is…
There are people making A LOT of money with Empower Network.
And not just the experienced marketers who make money in everything they try.
There are beginners who are also seeing results.
So the possibility of success within Empower Network is HUGE.
Their blogging platform works, their upper tier trainings are excellent and very “sellable”, and I truly believe that the 2 Davids are people of integrity who genuinely want everyone within their program to succeed.
What We’re Doing Differently Within Empower Network
I mentioned how the things I dislike in EN kept me out for a long time.
So what changed my mind?
This is what…. we’re changing the game within EN.
We’re forming a CULT within the cult.
We’ve formed a group within Empower Network that leverages all the super cool stuff within the platform but takes out the hype, the buzzwords, and most definitely the check flashing.
It’s all part of the Team Camelot concept, and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, leave me a comment and ask me to explain.
Or send me a contact request and I’ll fill you in.
